OK I’m a noob with WP but getting the hang of it pretty well. I’m a total noob with events manager as I only started using it this morning.

I was going ok until i got the error message “Dates must have correct formatting. Please use the date picker provided.”

I tried searching these forums and replicating other peoples solutions but nothing has resolved this issue yet.

I know just about nothing when it comes to coding.

I tried changing the format in the Theme general settings and in the blog settings but no luck.

I only have the contact 7 plugin enabled, and the under construction plugsin enabled – no other plugins are being used.

My site is going to process some pretty decent traffic that requires bookings and online payments (obviously i’ll upgare to the Pro version if this is revolved) but if I can’t get this events manger to work I’ll have to go with another option, which i don’t want to do.

Perhaps i need to modify my date settings to refelct the picker date settings in the events options, i’m referring to the area in this screen capture…. https://s9.postimg.org/4jzwnlwhr/dates.png

Any assistance at all would be greatly appreciated.

might be a theme issue; try this steps to confirm and to narrow down the problem

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems

    Ok i’ll try that thanks.

If i change to the default theme will i lose any settings or anything like that from my premium theme when i go back to it?

you should not lose any settings you have set in your original theme; however you can also try to choose ‘Live Preview’

    Thread Starter Steamed

    (@steamed)

Ok deactivated every plugin and tried again but no luck. I don’t understand how doing a ‘live preview’ of the default theme will do anything at all. I need to be able to go into the vent manager to try and add a new event which i can’t do in a live preview.

I tried changing back to the default theme anyway but it didn’t fix the problem.

So it wasn’t a plugin and it wasn’t the theme…. is it the fact that I have some date setting somewhere that i need to change?

PS Don’t ever buy from ozythemes.

hmm, can you share us some links for us to see and analyze?

hey Steamed…. are you sure you haven’t missed a plugin somewhere? try both with plugins and themes disabled/switched.

The other thing to check is Settings > Formatting > Date/Time > Date Picker Format

    e.g. try dd/mm/yy

    Thread Starter Steamed

    (@steamed)

ok thanks for your feedback but i worked out that I had NOT filled out the fields in the box in the top right hand corner title WHEN.

I didn’t see it because all of the other information was lower in the page.

Now that it’s working and I have created categories etc, when I add an event and it displays within my site I get the date showing as this…

I tried playing with the date formats but nothing seems to change it…. there are so many places where things can go wrong, can anybody help me locate where to fix this format issue please?

can I know the date format you’ve wanted?

also, you can try this docs for additional jQuery date format -> date format

    Plugin Author Marcus (aka @msykes)

    (@netweblogic)

it looks to me like you added dd/mm/yy in the wrong place (Date Format).

    try using d/m/y there

    Thread Starter Steamed

    (@steamed)

I agree that it looks like i used dd/mm/yy instead of d/m/y but i can’t find where to change that. I found one place but it didn’t make any difference so i changed it back.

I just want the date to appear:
    Day of month/Month/Year

can you share some screenshots of your formats at Settings > Formatting > Date/Time ?

    thanks
