    Hi,
I recently updated The Events Calendar to 4.9.0.3 and the dates shown on my upcoming events on the home page have changed to 1 January 1970. All the settings in the individual events are correct and nothing at all has changed except for the update. I tried a roll back to the previous version and the one before that but the 1970 is still stuck. If I put that post to draft it simply replaces it with another, again 1 January 1970.

I have searched the web and it seems that some others have had a similar experience but there are no answers.

Can anyone help please or point me n the right direction?
    Thanks,
    Lee

  • Hi @eljaysheffield!

Are you using the Events List widget to display upcoming events on your homepage? I tried on my local installation but couldn’t reproduce your issue with the latest version of The Events Calendar.
Which theme are you using? Could you try to switch to the default theme (Twenty Seventeen for instance)? Do you have the same problem this way? Then, could you deactivate all other plugins? Still the same error? (you may read our documentation about Testing for conflicts before doing anything: https://support.theeventscalendar.com/303643-Testing-for-conflicts

Please let me know how it goes ??

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

    Thanks Jeremy,
It is a tricky one because the site was taken over from someone long gone who custom built it out of Bootstrap so it hasn’t got a premium theme, just a custom built one. I have tried the usual plugin conflict by turning on and off but don’t want to risk changing the theme because this site seems to get regular glitches and it might destroy it. i am wondering if there is some outdated javascript library that I need to relink. For now i have removed the bit from the front page and this was tricky – it was in several places in the PhP files but there is no widget area in the WP Dashboard so it looks like it was just scripted into the PhP. I will keep trying.
    Thanks,
    Lee

    Hi Lee,

Thank you for the clarification. Well, it’s likely there something wrong with your theme then.
Obviously, testing for conflicts can result in some amount of disruption to your site. To avoid this, we recommend you either make use of a staging site and test things there or, if that is not possible, consider using a plugin like Plugin Detective and/or Health Check, each of which provides a troubleshooting mode that aims to ensure your site will continue to operate as normal for regular visitors.

Let us know what you find out ??

    Have a nice day!
