• Hi there,

I installed Event Organiser on a development site at https://rosannenelson.info/wfbc/ and it worked beautifully – everyone in the organization loves it and it works there beautifully.

However, when installed it on the actual site, no events were displaying. So I “viewed all events” and noticed none of the dates/times had been saved. When I re-enter the the date and time, and update the events, they are still not saved. Actual site is here: https://www.wfbc.org/events/

I don’t believe there is any conflict with other plugins, as they are the same used on the dev site, with same versions. I did activate their old event calendar to have something in place, but it doesn’t seem to be in conflict either.

Any idea what may be happening here?

    Thanks very much,

    David

    Hi David, Nicholas,

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems. Would you mind using this contact form to attach your “system information file”. This is a file which lists details about your environment (including php version, locale, whether its a multi-site etc). You can download it by visiting <your site>/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=event&page=debug.

Since I’m unable to replicate the issue on any of my test sites, it suggests that the issue is specific to a particular environment factor. Comparing your system information files might help suggest or rule out possible factors.

I assume, since you didn’t mention any, there are no error messages indicating any problem?

    Many thanks,
    Stephen

    Dear Stephen,
thank you for your kind reply.

I just used the contact form you indicated.

    Hi Muerta,

Not yet, I’m afraid. I’m still unable to replicate the issue and the system information files didn’t flag any common cause. Nevertheless if you could provide it, it may help.

In addition, I’m looking for those with sites who are experiencing this problem and are willing to provide admin access so that can debug this issue. (Testing won’t affect the front-end of the website). If so, please provide the details in the contact form linked to above.

I hope to get this sorted quickly! In the mean time there will be an update (2.7.3) shortly. It is not expected this will resolve this issue, but I would encourage you to update anyway.

If it’s urgent that this bug be fixed, I can only recommend downgrading to a version before this issue arose. (E.g. 2.6).

    Apologies for any inconvenience caused,
    Stephen

@all, this thread maybe related. If you have upgraded from a very early version (before 1.6), without first updating to 1.5.7, then you may experience problems.

Please let me know whether or not this applies to you.

If it does, you’ll either want to upgrade to 1.5.7 first (see above thread) or manually remove the deprecated columns. These include: Venue, event_schedule, event_schedule_meta, event_frequency, reoccurrence_start, reoccurrence_end and event_allday..

In the above linked thread, the last column in that list was still present, and the cause for the error.

    Hi Stephen,

For me, this is a fresh install of 2.7.2, not having any previous installations.

    Thanks!

    Update
A bug was found which affected some installs, running php5.2. This is largely due to the fact that when operating in php5.2 Event Organiser uses strptime(). Not all php5.2 installs are affected, as it will depend on the specifics of your server. Regardless 2.7.3 should address those issues.

@nicholasdeleo – you are running Event Organiser on php5.3.8, so the above does not apply to you unfortunately. If you’d like me to investigate the issue in your case further, please get in touch.
