date_i18n() may be deprecated in the long term

  • Starting with WP 5.3 there will be additions to the Word-press date/time API to counteract the general wonkiness of the current API. I noticed that you use date_i18n(), which is one of the functions the WP people would like to see phased out. Just FYI. (I was looking into this for one of my own plugins.)
