We’re a county-wide community events calendar and have a lot of people submitting events. I’m starting to get complaints from our users about the new time sliders. A few people have given up when they couldn’t make it work, and not completed their event submission. I’ve done some testing and I find it difficult to use too.
It doesn’t seem to work on mobile and someone told me they tried to list several events using a tablet and really struggled with the slider.
After setting the time on the slider, it’s not clear what to do next. It seems we need to click outside the box, but they see the Clear and think that will make the slider close.
We often have events that don’t have an end time, but it looks like it won’t accept no end time or setting the start time as the end time. (Used to be able to do that.) If you make a correction in the end time, you don’t notice that the date of the event has reverted to today’s date so it goes through with the wrong date.
Also if you get an error message, it goes to the top of the page and you don’t see the little error message farther down the page and users don’t know what to do or what went wrong.
We often hear from our users that we have the best and easiest submit form of any other resource, but it’s not as easy to use now, especially for our not-always-tech-savvy users. Any way to change the slider to the format EME had before?
    Thanks!

I just tried it on my smartphone and have no issues using the slider. However, I do understand the need for a “close”-button for some people, so I’ll see if I can add that.
Don’t forget that you can change the steps of the timepicker in the EME options too.

Th next version will have a Close-button too and it seems the timeticker steps were not following the settings in EME, that has been corrected too.
