Date Picker does not display month and year

    When the date picker is selected it is displayed with two WHITE BOXES (the current month and current year are not displayed). It is not obvious what those boxes are for.

    And, when the user selects a month or year from those dropdowns, the selected item is not displayed (or is displayed with WHITE LETTERS ON A WHITE BACKGROUND), so again, it is not obvious what month is being displayed on the calendar.

    I thought maybe my theme was causing an issue due to conflicting CSS, so I tried placing a date picker on two different websites – neither website displayed the Month and Year.

    I am using the most up-to-date version of WordPress and Smart Forms plugin. I’m not sure which CSS classes control the display of the Month/Year, so I’m not sure how to experiment to make this work.

    Never mind… using the Firefox code inspector, I identified the elements that needed to be changed and I added a generic fix to the CSS tab on the Smart Form.

    Here’s what I used to display the Month and Year values in black type on a simple white background:

    select.ui-datepicker-month, select.ui-datepicker-year {
    background-color:#ffffff !important; color:#000000 !important;
    }
