Date not showing properly

Hello,
I have been trying to add the ? last modified ? date on my articles thanks to your shortcode but, I dontt know what I’m doing wrong, it’s not displaying the actual date but only the letters used in the code (‘M j, Y @ G \h i \m\i\n’). I’m sure I did something silly but I can’t figure out what?
I’m using the Twenty-Twelve theme, by the way.Thanks!!

What do you have for these settings?
I’m guessing you will see something similar to what is in your content. If so, try as set in the image and see if that fixes it. A
\before any of the letters will show a literal character, instead of the date component it stands for.
