    Hi,

Recently I turned off the “Date in Google Preview”. My click through rate has become lower since then however, not sure if that is what caused it.

I turned the dates back on in Yoast and google has since indexed my site. The issue is the dates did not come back in the google search results.

Can you provide support to determine why the date have not come back?

The settings in Yoast don’t affect whether the date appears in Google. We have additional information on removing the date in Google’s search results in the following article: ?https://kb.yoast.com/kb/date-appears-search-results/#remove.

Thank you. I am aware settings in Yoast don’t affect whether the date appears in Google. Therefore we need to confirm yoast is working without relying on google search results. Could you please let me know how to verify the date setting in yoast is indeed working?

The “Date in Google Preview” changes only one thing; whether or not the date shows in the preview that is displayed when editing a post/page.

This doesn’t make any changes to the front end of your site which is why it has no impact on search results. The option allows you to pick the preview style that best matches how Google displays your content.

That is interesting. It seems my date turned off in google right around the time I turned them off in yoast.
