Date Format for List View with Shortcode

With respect to your query here, I have carried out tests on the date format issue raised here and I do not seem to replicate it from my end. Could you perhaps navigate to the Settings > General section and ensure that you set your date format to “F j, Y”.

Thanks for getting back to me!

I can confirm that Settings > General is configured to “F j, Y” as directed, but the issue persists.

Also, I can reiterate, it’s not the event dates that are the problem (and changing date format works as expected). It just the <h3> title of the calendar that’s the issue, and only when using short codes.

In this case, I have carried out tests from my end based on your video and I do not seem to trace the issue with the date formatting display. It’s likely that you could be having something altering the formatting within your website. Could you perhaps try adding the Shortcode to a new page, using the default WordPress editor and not a page builder.

I hate to say it, but you’re right. It appears to be an issue with the Divi theme. Switching to a default theme on a test site causes the dates to format correctly. I apologize for using your time, but I’m grateful for the support!

I’m back. I spoke too soon. It might be some type of responsive formatting thing in your javascript. Here’s what the Divi folks say:

Hey there Erich!?

The issue occurs since the shortcode is added to a narrower column and the plugin seems to convert the time format that way when there is not much width to use.

For example, using the default WordPress editor instead of Divi Builder, the same result is shown when the container is narrower. See the screenshot for it:

I’m afraid, the functionality of the date is handled by the plugin and not Divi. You may want to reach out to the plugin’s support to let them know about the issue. They should be able to provide more insights and fix the problem if ever needed.

In this case, I have carried out tests from my end while using narrow columns and I do not seem to trace such an issue while using the default WordPress editor. The calendar display on the link that you also shared seems distorted and not using the correct HTML used within the calendar. This signifies that there is something within your site causing a conflict in rendering the calendar. I would still recommend carrying out the plugin conflict test to identify the plugin causing this.

I’ve got an updated test link for you. For this one, we have:

1. Disabled every plugin except for Simple Calendar.
2. Switched to fresh install of Twenty Twenty-Three theme
3. The only content in our page is text and an HTML block (to force constricted width) for the second example.
