    Hi,

After updating to the latest version of the Types plugin my existing and new date fields do not work. I click in the data field and no picker comes up. I cannot type anything in the field either. Also, for existing date fields with data already in the field, the “Clear Date” button does nothing. This was all working as expected prior to the most recent updates. I need to get this fixed asap!!

    Thanks for your assistance!!

The above problem exists in v1.9 and v1.9.1.

And now in v1.9.1 I have found that when you click the “Select Image” on an image field, the page submits and then displays the message “This field is required” (because it is a required field) instead of allowing me to select the image prior to posting. This is really bad!!!! This has to be resolved immediately!! This has made my site unusable for implementing changes.

I’ve had to revert to v1.8.11 to make the site usable again.

I can not replicate that date Picker issue.

This is working fine locally, and on several other live sites I administrate.

I understand this is has been introduced on your end by a Types Update, but it might be due to something else as well.

Please go the basic debug way to see if this solves the issue:

Does the issue also persist with a WordPress Default Theme and NO Plugins BUT the Types Plugins?

If not, could you then re-enable the Plugins one after the other, and check the issue each time you enable a plugin?
Please report me when the issue comes back
It might also be due to the Theme.
Please do reactivate your Theme only after you are sure the issue isn’t coming form a 3rd Party Plugin.

I can also not reproduce the second issue with the Image field

You make this field required, add a post, and before you publish/save it, you hit “select Image” and this will open the Media Library.
There you add a image and click “Select”

This will parse the URL into the Field and then you can save the post.

This is most probably due to a compatibility issue.

Please follow above steps, and if those don’t help, reinstall Types manually from the repository here in WordPress > Types > Download.

Had to move on from Types because of too many issues, unresolved issues and overall slowness. Thanks for the responses and attempt to help though.

    Any update on these issue?

No because the suggestions above did not resolve the issue and as I last mentioned above I just moved away from using Types because of too many unresolved issues.

I also moved to another plugin. The css for this one is screwed up completely since recent updates.

    I apologize the delay here.

All the issues described were not replicable by me and still (with Types 2.0.1) are not.

Please let me analyze it on a Site’s Snapshot or Test Site of yours, as this is most certainly a compatibility issue.
You can provide me all details I will need over at the free Types Forum.

Regarding performance, Types does generally not impact performance
Performance is impacted when you query the data (display) or when you have many (many, tons of!) posts related in parent/child relationships.

We use Types on large Sites, and it does not affect performance so far.

I rather suspect a Database Bottleneck somewhere or a hidden error that is slowing the site down.

We could also analyze this, over at the free forum.

Types also does not provide any CSS.

All styling of Fields or Post types are done by the Webdeveloper, not by Types.

I would really like to know what is causing this issue with the DatePicker, as it’s not reproducible by us.

If you are willing to send me the above mentioned data, can you head over to the Free Forum and ask for my help there?
