    Hey @thedepi,

    We’re sorry for the frustration!

The Date/Time field is an Advanced Field that requires any of our paid licenses because of its many customizable options. These includes the options to choose between a Date Picker or Date Dropdown, different date formats, setting limit for available dates and time.

If you’d like to continue using WPForms Lite (our free version) though, a possible workaround could be to use a custom input mask to format users’ input in a Single Line Text field in a specific way.

And if you’d like more help with using WPForms Lite, please feel welcome to post in our WPForms Lite support forum.

    Thanks!

My apologies for piggybacking someone else’s thread, but since it is recent I thought it would be better to add my disappointment here rather than create another post.

I was looking for a basic date input field, and found that is only available in the Pro version. Really?!? Disappointing.

I understand you want to make money, but if I cannot try out relatively basic functionality, there is no way I am buying anything. I sure miss Joomla! in this regard.

Note that even if you offer a money-back guarantee, I don’t want to feel pressured to build out and test a form within x days.

    Hey @boardboss,

Thanks for reaching out, and we appreciate the feedback!

In case it helps to share, if you’re looking for a simple date field in WPForms Lite, perhaps you can consider using the Single Line Text field along with the custom input mask. The input mask would require users to key in information in the format you’ve set up.

If you’d like more help with using WPForms Lite, please feel welcome to post in our WPForms Lite support forum.

Currently, the Date / Time field is included as a part of our Fancy Fields because of the many advanced options for customization. For developers, it is also possible to use custom code further customize that field even further.

If you’ve any additional questions about the paid version of WPForms, please drop us a line through our contact page and we’d be happy to help!

    Thanks!

Hi Ethan – Thank you for the update. This will not work in our situation, unfortunately. Perhaps instead of building all date fields as “fancy fields”, it might have been better to allow a basic date picker. Then some conditional logic in the pro version. That way people could test some basic forms and make a decision to upgrade if pro does what they want/need it to do. As it is now, date picking/entry without jumping through any hoops is essential IMHO. It is disappointing your team did not agree.

    Hey @boardboss,

I apologize as we may not be the right fit for your needs for now.

I’ve noted your suggestions for our team’s future review. We certainly appreciate the feedback!

    Thanks ??
