date display of custom post type

I believe this is a theme related issue, not necessarily that of My Movie Database plugin, but here goes…
Is there a way to display the authorship date of a movie (custom post type turned on)? This isn’t showing in my movie posts.
The archive movie-category pages seem to sort by date, though the link slugs don’t include dates.

dates: Yes this is probably a theme issue. WordPress custom post type have their authors, publish dates, etc saved just as regular posts do, so the data should be available. It should just be a question of querying for – and displaying – them, hence a template issue.
slugs: You mean the slugs of the archive listed movies’ urls? When you access them from elsewhere, say a custom menu, do they include the dates (the url slugs should follow the structure as set in your Permalinks settings, do they not?)?
