    The

customization codes for the date and time format

, are presently able to be manually typed in.
The information about them is via a web link to a website.
This is a clunky way for the user to have to make the adjustments.

Improvement in the Useability of Date & Time Customization Method

The information for the codes could be saved as a simple text file, and be able to be called up directly from within the plugin.
There are several ways this could be presented, such as a scrollable text box or drop down text box on the right hand side of where the customization fields are, or a pop-up window (not so good because some ad-blockers might cause this to not work), or a “hover over” help question mark, or in the help system.

A better method, is to have the actual customization options presented as selectable items from within the plugin. But this would require more coding.

Hi @mksnmks, this is actually the way WordPress handles this in it’s own Settings > General section.
I found out that WordPress has it’s own documentation on date/time formats so I will probably use this one as the reference instead of the PHP doc but it think embedding the information in the plugin is out of scope since:

    * The per widget / shortcode date/time formats are “pro options”. You should generally stick with your standard WordPress setting and only change the formats when you really need to, which might be the case very rarely.
    * When writing shortcodes you wouldn’t have this information anyways.
    * A full documentation of the formats would be too large to show it in a popover or text box (actually needs a full page, see WP doc)
    * WordPress itself does it this way (though also suggesting a couple of common formats).
