database/password reset problem

  • I cannot access my site online with the pw and username I’d been using. I followed the directions in resetting the pw via PHP Admin and the codex procedure. I can see when I download the online db that the pw change has been made.
    I thought making another db user would be a solution through the cPanel. No luck.
    Am I missing some essential part of the process and/or just don’t understand what’s happening and supposed to happen?

  • You just need to match the username and password on wp-config.php and the database.
    Is your database showing its memory size ?
    Also check your site on sucuri.net to check whether it has some foul code .

    Thank you ever so much for getting back to me.
    I did check with sucuri.net (cool resource) and there were no problems.
    I checked the size of the db; it is 2.9M.
    I will double check the user name/password access to WP that is in the database and the database name + user name + password info that is in the config file. Have I got that right, the relationships, I mean?
