Database updates for attachment urls not taking

Hi all,

I’ve activated and de-activated a couple of plugins, and found the urls of the attachment images are now mostly wrong.

So, I’ve gone into the database, and updated the guid of the post representing the attachment. I checked the url, and it’s all good.

But, when I go back and load the parent post, the image doesn’t show. Also, when I go back to the media library, the old url is still showing in the File URL field.

How can I make the database update take effect? Alternately, what is the proper way to make the changes? I have bulk image attachments to update, and don’t want to do it manually.
