    Hey,

After the last update to woocommerce, I was asked to update my woo database in the background which I accepted. Now I have this notification bar at the top of my admin:

“WooCommerce database update – WooCommerce is updating the database in the background. The database update process may take a little while, so please be patient.”

It’s been a few days so I think it’s stuck. I run manual Cron jobs every half hour which I don’t know if this may have influenced the update.

My system statys says: WooCommerce database version: 3.5.8 (which I don’t know if it’s the latest one).

I asked premium support via woocommerce.com and they told me to disable and reenable Woo and that would regenerate the tables? I disabled Woocommerce and my whole backend was inaccessible with an error 500 code (It’s only after I disabled all the plugins via ftp that I could access the backend).

The notification bar is still there though and I’m not sure what else to do.

    Thank you.

  • Updating to version 3.6.2, you now get a link in the notification bar to the Scheduled Actions TAB (actually never looked at this tab ?? ) and like @pvan3 I run the pending tasks one by one. For me the notification bar is gone and I also got the message that the database update is complete.

Also updating to 3.6.2 on a staging server and getting the same issue, where the database won’t finish updating. I was able to use the scheduled Actions tab to manually update, but I’ve no idea if anything is broken or not.

I hope we hear something official about this, so we know what the source of the problem was.

    Hey there!

The main issue was an issue with Action Scheduler, which has been patched by both the WooCommerce team and the Action Scheduler team. Going forward, you can manually run any pending jobs, as mentioned in the latest comments.

    Have a great one!

Thanks. I manually ran the scheduled tasks and it works fine now. Appreciate the quick fix!

hi how do I run the scheduled tasks? I got the updating database for awhile now and not sure how to fix?

never mind i found the run button in the scheduler lol

Manually running each pending did it, thanks!

Aug 21, 2019, running all the latest everything and we have the same problem. This has been going on for many months, never seems to get fixed.

Hard to know if orders are being processed or not since users don’t always complain.
As one person said, manually running seems to work but sometimes the list is very long and we are nervous about running something manually that could run it out of order.
