Not sure what to do, there are several threads that suggest renaming the plugin folder, which didn’t work, and flushing cache systems, which I don’t think I have anything different than my other wordpress sites.

The site is https://dancingonthedash.com It has been upgraded to 4.7; I backed up the database beforehand. I cant access the admin area due to the not working “Database Update Required”

I did back up my database before upgrading. FYI.

    Try:
    – switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder using PhpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

I tried the theme suggestion first, that didn’t work. What worked was deleting everything except the wp-folder, then uploading a fresh download. I got promoted to enter database info again, and then promoted to update database.

    It worked this time!
