Database temporarily loses information

  • Hello, I have a strange persistent problem: I have one site whose database will drop one of four tables (posts, postmeta, terms, termmeta) TEMPORARILY, which renders the site as broken. It’s super weird, this table doesn’t exist for a day or two (“wp_j5kmp8_posts: Table ‘DATABASENAME.wp_j5kmp8_posts’ doesn’t exist”) but then it will magically reappear, with all of the information in it a few days later.

    I’ve tried repairing and optimizing the database in both the broken and fixed state, and messing with some settings, but it keeps happening. I can’t seem to figure out what triggers it to happen, either.

    The site is whatcalendar.com. The database is currently missing the posts table, so if you could look at it while it’s in this broken state that might help.

    FYI, I can restore a back up, but eventually the backups will do it, too.

    Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
