database on local MAMP problem

  • I have a WordPress installation running on my local machine. I want to use a database that I have backed up from my online WordPress site. After I import my backed up database, and I reload the WordPress page, I get a connection error screen.

    Error: Unable To Connect, Firefox cannot can’t establish a connection to the server at localhost.

    Any idea what is happening?
