Database not updating to latest version

I just updated WooCommerce to version 4.6.1.
This update comes with a database update.
After the update, at first, the status showed database version 4.6.1 (which it should).
A few minutes later, I got a message that my WooCommerce Subscription plugin is deactivated because it needs a database version >3.0.
Checking the WooCommerce status again gave me a blank database version.
I went to the Tools tab and started the “Update Database” tool.

This tool now updates the database version to 4.5.0, but never beyond.

I have experienced this with previous sub-releases (4.5.x), with 4.6.0, on my main site and on my test site.

How can I update to 4.6.1?
