• Hi, I recently migrated a wordpress site from one site to another. Two different urls.
I copied the files over to the new server, changed the wp-config file, downloaded and then uploaded the database, from phpmyadmin, to the new site.

I then used Search and Replace to replace site1.com to site2.com

Most of the time the site works, but every so often it comes up with a white page with black text ‘Cannot contact to Database’ or ‘Local Database cannot be found’ I cannot remember the exact text.

Obviously this is not good as I don’t want users to not be able to go on the site. Yet I have no idea how often this is happen and what’s wrong with it.

Does anyone know how I can go about fixing this?
Also, if someone knows a free way I can check the downtime of the site, and see how often this is occurring, that would be great.

    Thanks so much,
    D.

Also, when the new site does load, it takes several seconds longer than the old site does. It does nothing for 5-6seconds, then loads it. I don’t know why it’s really slow also. Obviously something really wrongs happened!
