• Hi there,

I am getting errors trying to upgrade via cpanel and i also have database error on my admin page. I have found a few threads pertaining to this problem and did what they said. i checked with my host and they checked on the phpmyadmin area

here is the error messsage i receive on my admin page..

WordPress database error: [Table ‘./wp_comments’ is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed]
    SELECT COUNT(*) FROM wp_comments WHERE comment_approved = ‘0’

Here is the error i get trying to upgrade…

database is not working properly and the creation of a
database backup file has failed. Please contact the sysadmin for furtherassistance. Include this message for reference.,The initial installation has not been modified.

And here is the reply back from my host…

“I have also tried upgrading your word press, I think it won’t do it because you appear to have customized it. The upgrade might overwrite your changes. “

is there any merit to what they are saying? it only took them 8 days to get to this point so im not all that happy with them at this time.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

i just sent back another email asking my host to repair it in the phpmyadmin area, im assuming thats where it need to be repaired? I am not technical minded in nature and do not want to tread into that area not evn know what the heck it is.

i was assuming since my first reply to my host was to fix that there, they did, but i m getting the feeling they may not even know what to do bc they are saying its bc of my blog being custom theme that im getting this though ive had it for over a year and no problems till a month or 2 ago.

    thanks

just to update this thread, my webhost fixed this issue, guess they didnt quite understand the first time. so anyone looking at the same issue, have the webhost repair the database in the myphpadmin area. theres also another thread here that gives more detail for this.

Cool. Glad you got it working. ??
