I see this error on top of the wordpress dashboard when i go to tools > broken links

Is this serious? I am not sure if my plugin is functioning properly. It has been a while since it has mentioned any broken links. Could be that there arent any but I just want to make sure

    Hello @hbk747 ,

Can you try to re-install the plugin? Deactivate, delete, and install again. It might be that the current installation might be corrupted.
Let me know if that will remove the issue.

    kind regards,
    Kasia

    Hello

Yes, I did that and now there is no database error. On top it just says “No Broken Links Found”

    So its all good now?

    Thanks

    Hi @hbk747,

Seems like what Kasia has mentioned would be the case, and reinstalling the plugin has resolved the DB error.

The plugin should work fine in general, so it should be good. If there aren’t any broken links it’s the expected message to display ie “No Broken Links Found”.

If you aren’t still sure you can double-check by creating a test page or post and adding a broken link in there to see how the plugin behaves.

Please do check and let us know if you notice any further anomalies so that we could check further if needed.

    Have a nice day ahead.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

    Hello

I think there might be an issue still.

In the “All” section it only shows 5 links and that to of the latest post. I do not think it is analyzing all the links of the other 20-30 posts that we have posted (unless I am missing something). There are no broken links. The All section shows “200 Ok” for all 5 links but again the issue seems to be that only the latest post has been detected for some reason and not the rest. Am I wrong to assume this?

    Thank you

    Hello @hbk747,

Broken Link Checker is distributing the link queue so that it doesn’t overload the server. When any page is loaded BLC will check some amount of links depending on settings. If there’s a lot of links on the website and there’s not much traffic it might take some time to have all the links checked.

You can check the status of queue on the settings page, it will say something like:
    Found 3 broken links
No URLs in the work queue.
Detected 6 unique URLs in 6 links.

If it says that there are number of URLs in the work queue, then it’s not finished yet. If there are links in the queue you can reload page as many time as needed to have them all processed.

    Kind regards

    My settings say:

    No broken links found.
No URLs in the work queue.
Detected 28 unique URLs in 29 links and still searching…

It seems to be working on the recently published 2 pieces.

Can you tell me how I can force it to check the previously published pieces as well?

    Hi @hbk747,

You can go to Settings > Link Checker > Advanced tab and use “Forced recheck” option there in order to check your entire site from scratch.

    Cheers,

You guys were right. It has slowly began populating with all the links.

    Thank you.

    This is resolved.

    Great, glad to head that.

    Cheers
