• Hi, I’m getting a database error. The table WordFence is trying to write to doesn’t existing because the _99 is the ID of the base site for a 2nd network in a multisite, multinetwork install.

    Should I deactive WordFence for all networks other than the primary one?

    Error details as follows:

    WordPress database error Table 'db.wp_99_wfNotifications' doesn't exist for query UPDATE wp_99_wfNotifications SET [...rest of query...] made by do_action_ref_array, WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, wordfence::dailyCron, wordfence::_refreshUpdateNotification, wfNotification->__construct, W3TC\DbCache_Wpdb->query, W3TC\DbCache_WpdbInjection_QueryCaching->query, W3TC\_CallUnderlying->query, W3TC\DbCache_Wpdb->query, W3TC\DbCache_WpdbInjection->query, W3TC\DbCache_Wpdb->default_query

  • Hi amibe,
    Wordfence should be installed only on the Network Admin, not on every individual site on the network, please check this guide regarding “Setting up Wordfence on WordPress Network“.

    Thanks.

    Hi, thank you for your response Yes, I understand what you say.

    However, I’m not referring to multinetwork, not multisite as one network. Each network (of sites) has its own Network Admin.

    So while the WAF will operate across all sites and networks, the WordFence Plugin will not load for a network where it is not enabled.

    I have now disabled it for the 2nd network but am concerned that (WAF aside) WordFence is no longer operating for the 2nd network. My assumption is that this is an issue which may need to be looked into and I’m happy to assist in any way that I can.

    Kind regards.

    Hi Amibe,
    Sorry, I missed that you mentioned it’s a “multinetwork install”, I thought it’s a regular WordPress Network installation, I’m afraid Wordfence is not supported on multinetworks at the moment, please check the plugin’s system requirements page to get a better idea about all the requirements. I think activating Wordfence on the primary network you have is the only thing you can do for now.

    Thanks.
