Database Error in Categories

  • After I upgraded to 2.3 everything was fine except for the MANAGE-> CATEGORIES view in the admin panel. it is showing this error:

    WordPress database error: [Table ‘pushapixel1.wp_categories’ doesn’t exist]
    SELECT SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS * FROM wp_categories WHERE category_parent = ‘0’ ORDER BY cat_name LIMIT 0, 50

    The numbers of posts in each category are still tallying when I write a post so the categories are functioning. I just cannot add new ones.

    Can someone let me know what this means. Ok I know that it means the table is not there but what do I do about it. Is there a file mix up somewhere or maybe an extra one that needs to be deleted? Has anyone else run into this problem? I looked up the mesage in the forums with no luck. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
