Database Error and 500 error

    Hi Guys,

    Something odd is happening to my website. It was working fine all of five minutes ago. I log out of one account and go to log into another, and I get the WordPress error page for a Database Connection.

    Then, I refreshed the page, and I got the standard Error 500

    Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    After refreshing again, I just got a plain text of ‘Error establishing database connection and is just toing/froing between the last two.

    I haven’t touched the backend of the website, all I did was log out!

    Any idea what could be causing this or how to go about fixing it?

  • Have you contacted your hosts about this? Sounds like a hosting problem to me.

    I have done, and it has since come back up. Odd, as there are no error logs that I can see.

    I’m thinking my host is going through a bout of unreliability, as this is the second time the site has gone down in 24 hours, but only the first (I think) since we migrated to them about a year ago!

    I’m awaiting their response, hoping they have an explanation as to what’s going on!
