• I gave my webhost(YsB) a go, I was even bumped up to another level of service because the call center person couldn’t fix it. I waited a few days, called back and got the same answers verbatim(same person). I waited a few more days and got a different person, who gave me the same reason the person before gave me. I do remember that a backup plugin was giving me problems so I tried a repair. I forgot and got impatient so I tried a backup anyway, while the repair was still going. I had just upgraded the sites php and mysql versions.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @brainjured

This error is caused because the connection string on wp-config.php does not match the configuration of MySQL and the database.

In this case, if you don’t have direct access to your MySQL, you may ask them to change the database password and update the wp-config.php with the new password.

Also, make sure the database name and the database user are correct.

Another possible cause would be the incorrect db_host or if the MySQL is not working or filtered by the firewall.
