• My wordpress site is registered with Automattic. I have no access to the database as far as I can tell. I have no access to the wp- files to see what the settings.

I am going to change the nameservers to dreamhost.

The first thing I did was to export all of the content to an xml file using the dashboard.
The I have an install of wp on my server to import all of this data.
I import the data, run the updates in my db to change the full paths, installed the same theme, but no assets are showing up on the page. The widgets are missing as well.

I verified that the wp-content folder has the right structure with files included.

Should I be doing something different to migrate the site? I’ve read through the docs/forum to try multiple things to fix this. I don’t want to change the nameservers until I am sure that the copy I have made is the same.

justincolangelo – If you mean you have your blog hosted on WordPress.com (which is not ‘Automattic’ but don’t worry about the confusion, you’re not alone), then you;re doing the move right so far ??

Assets? You mean images? The widgets and theme settings don’t copy over, I’m afraid.
