Could you please advise if my defect can be repaired or if I should recreate the site rather than repair it? Thank you in advance.

    [Symptoms]
    – Multiple links are forcibly redirected to the top page.
    – The login form (Ultimate Membership Pro short code) layout at the front page gives an error “Password is different” for the correct password, and we cannot log in. However, we can log in with the same password on the backend (https://www.example.jp/wp-login.php).
    – Some user accounts are automatically deleted.

    [What causes defects]
Problems appear with the following plugin updates and setting changes. I contacted the theme and plugin creator. But they say that the defect cannot be reproduced, or it is not due to a theme or plugin.
    – CBX Bookmark & Favorite pro
    – All-in-One WP Migration
    – Ultimate Membership Pro

    [What I know]
    – One week after the defect appears, it will naturally converge. And the site looks normal.
    – Therefore, we cannot confirm the defect on the site until immediately after the defect occurs.
    – The URL of the DB data has a mixture of www and no www. However, I have never set a URL with www.
    – URLs with www are forcibly redirected to the top page.
    – The engineer who restored the site with the backup data says that it had the potential for DB data corruption and as the plugin is updated or changed, the corrupted DB data stored by the plugin may appear.

Can a skilled engineer fix this bug? Or should I recreate the site?
I would like to have the site repaired if possible.`

  • Can a skilled engineer fix this bug?

The answer is unfortunately maybe, but you would need to engage a skilled engineer and pay for an investigation ( not here – this is not a job site )

Or should I recreate the site?

This maybe the more economic route, depending on how much effort recreation is.

    Hi Mr.Alan Fuller, (@alanfuller)

Thank you for your reply. Your answer was very helpful for me.
    I appreciate you sincerely.

Of course I will pay the engineer enough.
And I understand that this is not a place for recruitment.

    Thank you again!!!
