• My wordpress site is fast on wp-admin and on the frontend UNTIL I edit/publish a post. As soon as I click Publish, the Database Connections start increasing exponentially and the site slows down so much that we have to restart the server.

    Any thoughts on the cause?

    Current Stats:
    Using Amazon EC2 Server
100-350 Active visitors on the site when this happens
Only increases DB connections when editing/publishing a post

    SearchWP Term Archive Priority

Here is another way to describe this issue:

When editing a post or product, it creates multiple php processes that keep the connection to the database open which eventually kills memory on the server as it keeps trying to create new processes to serve the requests.
