• I get the error message 505 database server connection problem.

I changed something in my subheading for the blog on the home page and then may also have changed the public url or the other url for the site.

Can you help me? Or should I just re do the whole thing as I am only just now making my first post?

  • The url change is probably what did it. You could open the database in something like phpMyAdmin and change it back, or if you are just starting out and are not familiar with “messing with the database”, then just drop the database and install again is probably just as easy.

The same thing happened to me. I called my web host and they looked in my wp-config.php file and a letter was changed to a number. No clue how it happened because I never touched that file, but they fixed it for me.
