database adding attribute

Hi, I’m trying to develop a plugin and at some point I need to add an attrubute directly to the database, the issue is that I can’t get my new added attribute to show in the Products->attributes window, but if I look in a attributes dropdown it is there, I don’t understand why also in the product page under attributes, I also don’t see it.
What are the tables I need to add info to for the attribute to show up?
