• Are there changes in the database from 1.2. to 1.2.2. ? I updated to 1.2.2 some days ago and my blog loads between 30 and 50 seconds! (I’m not sure if things start getting bad at the day of the update).
I contacted my webhoster several times, but he says everthing is allright. But who believes his webhoster?
You can test this horrible (german) thing at https://www.kopfhoch-studio.de/blog/
Other pages without sql-queries load quite normally. So I’m sure it has something to do with the SQL-server.
Is it possible to run a 1.2.2 database with an 1.2 installation? Just to test if there is a difference? This situation makes me wanna cry.

  • One thing you can do that won’t hurt anything is to use your browser to navigate to .../wp-admin/upgrade.php and run the upgrade script. I don’t think there were any changes in the database between the two versions.

Now, when you changed to the new version, did you just overwrite the old files or did you delete the old ones and then upload the new version? It is recommended that you delete/upload rather than copying the new files over the old.

I made this upgrade as it is recommended. I made the upload of the new files after deleting the old ones. I deactivated all the plugins and so on. It makes me really mad. I don’t know what to do. I’m quite sure that it is a SQL-problem, cause I have a forum-script running which is not as slow as wordpress, but slow enough.
Can I start the .../wp-admin/upgrade.php again?

Sure, try running the upgrade script again.
