JetPack modifies the output of images to include data-* attributes used by the Carousel module, but it does it in all images in the site, even in widgets and pages where there are not galleries or the carousel module is not active. Is there some way to stop this behaviour? The HTML of some pages is really bigger for nohting.

Another question related with Carousel. In a post, single images linked to attachment pages opens in carousel, is it possible to do it also with images linked to file?

  • Hi there,

It sounds like you might be using the Photon module which requires the data attribute and there’s no way around this unless you deactivate Photon.

As for your second question, I’ve just tested this and it doesn’t appear to be working. I’ll have to reach out to our Carousel experts to see why this might be the case and whether it was intentional or not.

    Nop, I have photon disabled.

Could you post your site URL here, so I can take a further look?
