    Hi

I need to export the data from a specific pod as a csv file and just want to ask if anyone can recommend anything ideally a plugin. I tried WP All Export but I’m really not clear how this can be set up as I just need something simple ideally.

WP All Export is what we would recommend, yes. It’s pretty straightforward. You select the Custom Post Type you want to export. If you want to customize what data is output into your CSV, you need to select the ‘Customize Export File’ after selecting the Custom Post Type.

This gives you a drag and drop editor where you can put the fields in the order you want. Your Custom Post Meta Fields (or fields added by Pods) will be in the Custom Fields selector to the right.

Hope this helps; it’s really powerful and terribly easy to use, once you get the hang of it.

    Hi

The CPT options it gives are Pods Fields, Pods Pages and Pods. I have a number of Pods set up and just need to set up the export for a specific one. No matter which CPT options of these 3 I choose in the Custom Fields selector none of the fields I want show. All it seems to be able to do is export the Pods configuration not the data within a Pod.

What did you create in Pods? Did you extend existing custom post types of another plugin or did you create an Advanced Content Type?

    Advanced Content Type

Okay, that wouldn’t be available from WP All Export because it’s not a WordPress Custom Post Type. It’s it’s own Table created by Pods.

You need to go into the Admin UI tab for your Advanced Content Types in the Pods Admin, and select down under ‘Actions Available’, check the ‘Export’ action.

This will give you the ability to Export All from your Advanced Content Type list and you can select the fields you want and the export format.

It is but doesn’t show anywhere.

The Admim UI style is set to normal, is that correct.

Also in the admin UI I have tried changing the admin columns to show but it doesn’t work either.

It would add a button beside the Bulk Actions selection and ‘apply’ button for ‘Export All…’ (whatever your Advanced Content Type is). I’ve tested this locally and it works for me (along with adding the additional columns). Try looking for conflicts and/or check to see if you’re getting any Javascript errors in your browser console.

Clearing the cache is also an option Pods Admin, Settings, Clear Cache.

Doh. For the specific Pod I want to export the “Show Admin Menu in Dashboard” was NOT ticked. However it only exports the data shown on that screen not ALL of the records, is that the correct behaviour? If so how can I display all records on a single screen as there is no screen options tab to change it.

Sorry for my ignorance but I am not very familiar with Pods as this is site I inherited.

There is an outstanding issue that re-rose its ugly head that the Export from Advanced Content Types is limited to the ‘page’ of items. Until this is fixed (and it’s only the list after the Gutenberg update), you can just export directly in the PhpMyAdmin (or in your CPanel for your database), since everything is in one table.

Ok thanks for letting me know and for all your help.
