    Hi, I just installed and activated Google Site Kit on my WordPress site. I got the messages below;

    Congratulations, the Site Kit plugin is now activated.
    Your site may not be ready for Site Kit
    Looks like your site is having a technical issue with requesting data from Google services.
    To get more help, ask a question on our support forum and include the text of the original error message:
    google_api_connection_fail

    After clicking on the dashboard I got the message;
    Data error in Analytics
    cURL error 7: Failed to connect to analyticsreporting.googleapis.com port 443: Connection refused

    Wondering what could be the cause and what can I do to resolve it.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for reaching out. If you’d like to share the following information I can see if I notice anything with your current setup which may be resulting in this notice:

    1. Your Site Health information information. You can share privately via this form. Please ensure you include your hosting provider in the form.
    2. Do you have any other WordPress sites you can check setup with on the same hosting provider. Many hosting providers have a one click WordPress install if you’d like to check on a clean install.

    Note that previously users who encountered similar notices had to make changes at host level in order to proceed, with the “google_api_connection_fail” notice a result of web application firewall or hosting restriction, with some checks possible at host level.

    We are closing this ticket as we didn’t hear back. Feel free to open a new ticket in case of any queries.

    Happy Monday ??
