DashIcons not changing

    The Max Mega Menu Dashicons only show the gear icon using my saved MegaMenus theme.

    In Appearance menus: I have selected clipboard for one column and a cloud for the other, but the icons remain as gears. In trying to solve:

    I deactivated all plugins, used the MMM tools – clear cache then tested
    I activated and tested in each of the basic TwentyTwelve, TwentySixteen, TwentyNineteen theme
    I swept the sites database and went through the steps above again.
    I verified that my selected DashIcons were still in play, saved the MMM panel in the menus area and saved the menu.

    Can you assist?

    Hi L J,

    Thanks for posting a link.

    Your theme is overriding the default dashicons CSS. Please can you try removing the “main-navigation” class from the page?

    This is the class that needs to be removed:

    You’ll need to do that in a child theme, the menu is usually output by your themes header.php file.

    Your solution worked beautifully.

    (And for others who might encounter a similar issue, I really like the plugin Child Theme Configurator by Lilaea Media. It is much easier than hand coding as many of us had to do in the past.)

    All fixed up now and moving forward.
