• I am at my wits end here — I upgraded my site to 4.4.2 and now the site and the plugins are working fine — I even have the WP menubar at the top of the pages when I log into the admin section but when I go to access the Dashboard I just get a blank page!

I tried disabling the plugins but that didn’t help (renamed the folder via FTP)

I then tried to do a manual install by replacing the files but in the middle of that the entire site went blank so luckily I had copied the old files I was replacing so I put them back via FTP and the site worked again but I still have no access to the Dashboard.

I have read a number of threads and posts but none seem to be able to help me.

I do not know WP very well — this site was set up by someone else and I was asked to upload some photos. It is highly customised and I do not want to break that element.

The site is hosted on a normal web server — I have full FTP access to it.

My database is in phpMyAdmin — I have access to it but I really don’t know what I’m doing in it!

Can anyone offer any advice please? I am not a tech guy so I don’t want to do something that will cause the site to go down completely!

  • Hi,

Have you tried changing to the default theme to see if that makes any difference?

Thanks for the reply Jacob — I have it sorted now.

Some of the files were missing so I had to go through each directory and make sure all the correct files were there and add the ones that were missing!
