I just installed a new WP installation on a Godaddy free hosting account and the site itself looks fine. However, the Dashboard does not display correctly. Anyone have any ideas on what needs to be fixed, or if I should attempt to reinstall? This is what it looks like:

well, looks like it works in IE, but not Firefox. We’ll see how it goes, but I hate using IE.

    What version of Firefox?

If it was happening on both, I’d have said a bad install (missing some files perhaps), but it’s fine on my FF so … dump your cache? Do you have FF addons that might be killing it?

Turned out it didn’t work right in IE either. Found this thread:

Looks like an issue with Godaddy free hosting. I had to make changes to some of the php files. Now at least the dashboard displays properly, but I can’t get widgets to stay on the sidebar and the RSS feed is broken. Guess I’ll just keep tinkering with it.

    Please help

The whole year I have a problem with dashboard. I have a website, done 2 years ago and I have problem with dashboard. I don’t have left sidebar of dashboard.
Version is updated to latest 3.0

What to do? How to get it displayed? I don’t have access even to plugins.
Today I became very convinced about this error after new installation of wordpress in new server – I have left sidebar of dashboard !

beata43, try resettings your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve your issue, please start your own topic.

How I can reset plugins if I can’t reach them through dashboard?
Should I them delete through FTP?

P.S. I don’t see posibility to start new topic ? thefore I wrote in existing topic

How I can reset plugins if I can’t reach them through dashboard?

Follow the link in my reply.

Oh, thank you, I didn’t notice, – sorry

I did with plugins in FTP.
Yes, I see now left sidebar of dashboard and get such error:
Warning: file_get_contents(http:%20nepavyko%20rasti%20RSS%20ar%20ATOM%20srauto%20nurodytame%20URL.): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /srv/disk5/123180/www/vambutai.atwebpages.com/wp-includes/class-feed.php on line 97

RSS Error: file_get_contents could not read the file

    What to do now?
Should I activate one of plugins and see what will be?

What about my error, could you sugest something?

it seems Lighter menu was fault to hire left sidebar

    * Lighter Menus by corpodibacco
    * genko also don’t work

I am still experementing after uninstalling Lighter menu

The new errors appear even with all plugins disabled?

Yes, to verify again, I have reseted all plugins again and see that the new errors appeared:

    I have two RSS errors:

    for Links:

RSS Error: A feed could not be found at https://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch_feeds?hl=en&scoring=d&ie=utf-8&num=10&output=rss&partner=wordpress&q=link:https://vambutai.atwebpages.com/

    and for WordPress development blog:

Warning: file_get_contents(http:%20nepavyko%20rasti%20RSS%20ar%20ATOM%20srauto%20nurodytame%20URL.): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /srv/disk5/123180/www/vambutai.atwebpages.com/wp-includes/class-feed.php on line 97

RSS Error: file_get_contents could not read the file

I don’t know how to disolve them ???

As for left sidebar, I have disabled plugins which was quilty and now is OK. THANK YOU !

    One more

On my new wordpress installation (I have updated to version 3), no plugins are activated and no contents for a while
    I have also RSS errors:

    For incoming links:
RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Failed to connect to blogsearch.google.com IP number 1: Permission denied

    For WordPress development blog:
RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Failed to connect to www.remarpro.com IP number 1: Permission denied

    and for other WordPress News:
RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Failed to connect to planet.www.remarpro.com IP number 1: Permission denied

    WHAT IT MEANS?

It sounds like your sever has some security measures in place that are preventing your blog’s ability to include remote feeds. You should contact your hosting provider.

    OK,

thank you for help very much

And nothing more like to switch something off do not see those errors?
Maybe this is something related with WordPress 3, because as I remember, I had not such errors before udating to version 3?

Make sure that you do not have define('WP_DEBUG', true); in your wp-config.php file.
