    Hello,

I upgraded my dashboard last night, and some of my outdated plugins, and everything was going fine until..

I don’t see anything. My website is up and running (with some widgets not being adjusted). But when I login to my dashboard (/wp-admin), it’s just a blank page. All white.

I’ve tried with Google Chrome and Firefox. Both same result. I’m wondering if there’s a solution to this.

    Thank you for any help!!

  • Try disabling all plugins by FTP’ing into your server, and rename each individual folder in /wp-content/plugins (e.g. change “awesome-seo-plugin” to something like “awesome-seo-plugin-disabled”).

Once that is done, all plugins should be disabled automatically and you can try to log back in to your admin.

If it works now, you’ll have to rename every plugin again to the original name and enable it in the admin, and do it one by one (one plugin at the time). Every time after you rename/enable a plugin again, check if the admin goes white.

Once that is the case, you know which plugin is the cause of the issue.

I’m having the same problem, I veirfied that after to update my WordPress environment yesterday (4-08-2104), if I don’t disable the active plugins, I can not access the Administration area of WordPress

@mlima1000 — see my message above; re-enable them one by one to find out which plugin may cause the problem.

    I’m only 2 + 1 installed plugins
    woocommerce Version 2.1.12
    contact-form-7 Version 3.9.1
WooThemes Helper Version 1.3.0 (always activated)

The contact-form-7 plugin was already enabled in the past and there isn’t problem, but today I disabled/renamed the folder and returned to activate it and now the problem happens.
I disabled/renamed the woocommerce folder, and activate it, the problem always happens.

    PS:
I’m afraid that the problem became from the lake of compatibility of languages between WordPress(PT_pt) and several plugins(EN_en).

So things break as soon as you activate either Contact Form 7 OR WooCommerce?

What if you try reverting to a default theme (TwnentyEleven, TwentyThirteen, etc.)?

Just wanted to say thank you for all the help everyone.

I am trying to learn more about how to FTP into my server. I downloaded FileZilla and I’m hoping to be on the right track.

Again, thanks for all the information!

    @senff answering your questions:
“So things break as soon as you activate either Contact Form 7 OR WooCommerce?”
    – Yes

“What if you try reverting to a default theme (TwnentyEleven, TwentyThirteen, etc.)?”
    – Today I tried to revert to the themes which you lists and the problem happens.
    – Also I tried to re-install the plugins, and upload the plugin’s files in several ways, and the problem happens.

So, just to make sure what the situation is.

The problem occurs when you use any of the default themes and no plugins are activated? Or only when any of the plugins is actually activated?

@senff, Thank you for your help

At the moment, the situation is:
1o With the theme Wootique(1.6.9) and plugin: Woocommerce(2.1.12), simultaneously, When I try to activate the woocommerce plugin, the blank page appears, and I can not do anything.
2o Now, with the theme Wootique(1.6.9) and plugin ContactForm7(3.9.1), it appears to work correctly.
3o The problem also occurs when I use other default themes like as Twenty Twelve, Twenty Thirteen

4o Then, it appears the problem is the woocommerce(2.1.12), are you agree?
It’s strange because the theme wootique(1.6.9) and plugin: Woocommerce(2.1.12), were downloaded from the same site (WhooThemes), in the same date.

I’m starting now with woocommerce, after a little research to the Internet, it seems that was a plugin widely used.

Since it looks like the issue is related to the Wootique theme and/or the Woocommerce plugin, I suggest you get in touch with WooThemes and request some support. They should be able to help you out with it.

And yes you’re right, Woocommerce is a very popular plugin that is widely used. ??

    Hi @senff,

    The problem was solved.
The problem was not the WordPress or plugins.

I checked the settings on the host server, and modified the configurations for PHP Mode: php_cgi54
I recognize that my knowledge of PHP is very limited.

    Thank you for help!!

Just wanted to update everyone on how I managed to fix it:

I renamed all my plugins through cPanel of Bluehost. Essentially what @senff had told me to do. I couldn’t FTP to my website for some reason, but using the File Manager in cPanel of Bluehost, I managed to do it.

    Best of luck all.

    Special thanks to Senff!!
