For some reason Widget area in my admin area is totally “disabled”. I’m not able to drag’n’drop any widget, access widget properties and the right column of the widget area has vanished.
Also,I’m not able to load screen options, when i click it nothing happens. I thought that something was wrong with the java script, I check it using console at webmaster tools at chrome and i didn’t find any error. Also, I’ve tried with several different browsers, even OS but issue persist the same. I’ve tried changing theme and switching off and back on all plugins – nothing happens. Also, there is no inactive widgets area at the bottom of the page.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

When I performed plugin reset, after the renaming plugin folder using FTP my widget admin page worked just fine. When I log in and rename folder from plugin.hold to plugin I experienced same issue. It looks like some plugin is making problems.

However, once again I’ve tried to deactivate all plugins and investigate problem by turning on one by one and I found that plugin SimpleReach Slide make this issue at my WP. I hope this will help the others with the same issue.

    Cheers!
