Can no longer edit Widget Box on our dashboard. All the gear settings take us to settings box, not the actual place to edit the items in the Widget Box on the Dashboard. Please help.

Glad to help but not sure exactly how to reproduce the issue.. can you let me know the steps you are trying, so I can follow along and see what’s happening. Thank you

So we are clicking on the “gear” in the dashboard to edit the Widget Box and it takes us to settings, no the actual links we have in the widget box. I’d send a couple of screen grabs but don’t know where I could post them, as this is a private website.

That is correct, when you click the gear icon, it takes you to the plugin settings. So I am not sure what is happening here. Yes sharing a screenshot would be super helpful. There are millions of ways to do it, for example:

Just about anything on that first page should work great.

Not sure what you need to see to help fix

Just tell me the steps that you are trying to do. Something like this for example:

    1) Visit the Dashboard
    2) Enable the whatever widget
    3) Click on something or whatever
    4) Notice the result, etc.

That way I can follow along here locally and try to understand and help asap.

Steps as requested: Visit the dashboard, click on the gear icon to edit the Custom HTML within the Widget Box, takes us to Widget Box settings, nothing editable.

    Thanks.

The Widget box is empty by default, does that matter? Or should there be a widget added? If so, which one. You’ve got to be specific as possible, so I can try to understand what you are doing here.

Trying edit the Custom HTML within the Widget Box, I can no longer figure out how to edit our links as you saw in the pic I sent.

So you are adding the Custom HTML widget to the DWS Widget Box, correct? If so, the plugin does not provide any editing functionality of displayed widgets. So to change the widget contents you have to visit the Widgets screen under Appearance in the main WP menu.

When I go to the Widgets section under Appearance, there is no place to edit the Custom HTML we have inserted.

That would be an issue with WordPress or one of your plugins or themes. DWS has nothing to do with the Custom HTML widget. That said, this is what you are looking for to edit content of the Custom HTML widget.

That is exactly the problem, we are not getting the editable box we are only getting this: https://snipboard.io/u4CpGX.jpg

Yeah that is an issue with WordPress and/or some other plugin or theme. As mentioned DWS has nothing to do with WP and 3rd-party widgets. Best advice is to ask in the general WP support forum, or do some basic troubleshooting of your theme and plugins. I would be glad to provide a guide if it will be useful for you.
