Dashboard update of Jetpack is failing if version is 3.x. The availabe update seems to be 3.9.7. After selecting “update” and refreshing Dashboard, the plugin is still not updated. Attempts to update 3.9.7 is going in loop. Critical if you are in need of updating without FTP access.

  • Same issues as others with update from 3.9.7 running on latest WP.

It was also the only website that failed to automatically update the plugin that I have on the same server.

I tried deactivating then updating – same thing. So I deleted the plugin and reinstalled without further issue.

@jeremy – thanks for your follow up on this matter. Do you think the next update will fix the issue with the annoying and misleading update reminder? So the “updated version 3.9.7” will be updated and showing correct version number? I don′t want to waste time deleting via FTP and reinstall if I don′t have to…

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

It turns out it was an issue with how WordPress auto updates were configured. It should now be fixed! Could you all give this another try, and let me know how it goes?

Yup – all ok now ??

All clear on mine as well. Thanks Jeremy!

I simply deleted the plugin and installed the newest version, and everything’s now working.
