• I updated to the newest version of WordPress today. Unfortunately, it told me for the best experience I needed to update my Firefox browser to the latest version which is five. I said to myself, That sucks! But I ended up updating from my perfectly happy 3.6.12 version to the latest 5 version. Not happy with Firefox’s new appearance but that’s for another forum. The problem is even though I updated my browser the dashboard looks exactly the same as it did when I was using 3.6.12. I have this huge space to the left and I even changed my screen resolution to see if that was the problem. It wasn’t as the large empty column of space remained. Can someone enlighten me as to why I’m seeing my dashboard like this? It’s very annoying and I’d prefer wordpress to take up the full browser.

Here’s a screencap of how it looked when I updated it. But again it looks the same way after I updated my browser. Except now the Firefox message is gone.

I don’t think that’s it. The problem is that giant grey part to the left that is pushing the whole layout to the right. See where my mouse cursor is in the grey part? That’s the column I’m talking about.

The giant grey area is supposed to be full of the dashboard menu.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). Don’t forget the ones in mu-plugins. If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

Okay that fixed it! It was the Ozh’ Admin Drop Down Menu plugin that was making it look funky. Thanks, problem solved!
