• All eleven of my sites (not just the one listed below) are stuck in Dark Mode, with no way to turn it off in your plugin settings.

Additionally, it causes a delay in loading dashboard pages. I have to wait for the plugin to load the styles before I can view the pages, and this is really getting on my nerves. I don’t have time for this nonsense. It makes every page take twice as long to load.

The option to turn it off is not clickable in the settings. It doesn’t work. It’s stuck in the ON position

And so is your font option. I can’t turn either of them off.

Your Dark Mode is not compatible with my dashboard widgets. It makes the text on some of them too hard for me to read. And I don’t want it to be compatible. I don’t want your Dark Mode at all.

Please, in the future, consider NOT making your dashboard theme style options turned on by default. I don’t want skinned sidebars, dark mode, a different font, or any other changes made to the style of my dashboard. Allow the user the choice to turn them on, if they want them, but for them to be OFF by default, so they don’t annoy people that don’t want them.

I use your plug-in because of it’s functions, and its ability to do important things that affect my visitors’ experience in a positive way. It allows me to do a lot with a single plug-in.

Please don’t make me have to uninstall this and install a bunch of other plugins to replace it, by making me have a negative experience when viewing my own dashboard.

Most of the functionality of your plug-in is good stuff, but this dashboard styling stuff is awful, a pure annoyance.

@app103 hello dear, its not stuck. by default plugin using darkmode and custom font and it will change (wp-admin) dashboard style, and because of this, i made it like this and you can’t change it, thats why its stuck in the ON position.

i tested darkmode with least wordpress version (5.3.2) and its working fine, what is your wordpress version?

may at next update, i allow users to inactive darkmode (for other parts of wp-admin, “not plugin panel settings and options”). so you have to wait for next update.

darkmode is really awesome and i made vcolors with material design. your eyes will get used to it in a short time. it’s not really annoying like that you said.

but (wp-admin) font will be active by default and you cant turn it off (its because wordpress dont use good font for RTL websites and this font is really great for RTL and of couse LTR texts).

if you have any more suggest or option for plugin, i can work on them. if your problem solved i will mark this topic at solved or if you don’t reply it for within 3 days i will close this topic at solved.

    best regard.

Thank you for updating your plugin and turning dark mode off. You have no idea how much I appreciate that.

Your dark mode is bad for me on my setup. It makes things hard for me to read. Lots of dark text on dark backgrounds or light text on light backgrounds. You can’t support every plugin on the planet with your theme, and that is only part of the problem.

Your darkness made it take twice as long, yesterday, to set up a new site on my network. Not only did I have delays between every page, waiting while your dark mode loaded, I had delays because I couldn’t quickly find things, because of a lack of good contrast. I also couldn’t read some text without selecting everything on the page, to allow my system to provide the better contrast between text and background.

If you really like dark mode so much, my best suggestion would be to make it a separate plugin. That way us older, more practical people don’t have to suffer with it, and all you young people that love to live in darkness can have all you want. You could even make it with multiple themes, purple mode, green mode, pink mode, etc.

Meanwhile, people like me can continue to have our boring, old fashioned “plain mode” because it will be in a separate plugin, which we won’t install.

In other words, your “auto set first image as featured” plugin might not be the best place for everything plus the kitchen sink, especially when people install it because they only want the features it claims to do in its name, “auto set first image as featured”. One wouldn’t expect a plugin named that to change your entire WordPress Admin to a dark mode theme.

With how much you are putting into it, perhaps you should change the name to “Kitchen Sink”. ??
