• Hi

I’m on the latest version of WordPress. I’ve found suddenly that I’m getting this message on top of my dashboard (I’ve replaced the name of my site with ‘mydomain’:
eader information – headers already sent by (output started at /var/sites/i/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-includes/theme.php:1844) in /var/sites/i/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-includes/option.php on line 820

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /var/sites/i/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-includes/theme.php:1844) in /var/sites/i/mydomain.com/public_html/wp-includes/option.php on line 821

I’m also finding that I can’t see any of my images in the Media Library and can’t preview a post before posting.

    Any advice appreciated, thanks

  • I have the same warning when I want to save a post

Started today – I looked at the file for some blanks after <?php in the file .. but didn’t help

    any other Idea?

I had the same problem start today as well on the theme.php:1844. I’ve looked for black spaces and blank lines but to no avail.

I am also unable to post or preview. I was told it may be malware but even after restoring to an older state I’m still getting the error. I’m wondering if it’s a wordpress issue or vulnerability affecting everyone.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

Same exact issues as everyone else in here. Any fix?

I did a Wordfence scan and apparently it’s “malicious code” that is affecting core WP files. In theory the plugin should be able to clear it up, but when I tried to repair repairable files and delete deletable files, it did more harm than good and completely rendered my site unusable.

I had to restore my WP files as well as the database.

    A clean install was recommended.

I did a clean install and that didn’t work.

I did a WP re-install by clicking the re-install button in the WP-Admin page and that seems to fix the issue.

I did that as well, but the problem kept coming back. I found out that the reinstall from the dashboard only updated the core WP files. Some malicious code can be embedded in non-core files (I assume for a higher chance of not being over written) as well as hidden deep within other folders.

Lucky for you that worked. Keep us posted!
