Dashboard problem

  • Along with my problems with RSS feeds, I noted that I also get an error on the Dashboard, ‘Other WordPress News,

    RSS Error: file_get_contents could not read the file

    I assume it’s connected to the RSS mess.

    Check with these options:

    -> Disable All the plugins and have a check and enable them one by one to find out the culprit.
    -> Upgrade your wordpress to the latest version
    -> Check the file permissions of your blog folder and it should be 644.

    Done all that and my problems only started when I ‘upgraded’, first to 2.8.1 (abandoned that one) and then finally 2.8.2 as I figured they’d gotten the worst bugs out. how wrong can you be?

    The worst of it is trying to get some kind of response, I had a mess of RSS feeds installed that I know readers use and I also now have no Facebook or Twitter Feed, can’t install KB Advance RSS and the author has abandoned it!

    Re the WordPress News Feed (via the Dashboard), the problem is that there is no RSS URL! Anybody know what it is please?
