    Hello,
My WP blog is hosted on Yahoo Small Business. I imported it because I already had my domain through their source.

Access the dashboard through their site is a pain. I cannot access it through my domain/wp-admin.

Do you know if there is another way to access the dashboard other than 1) though yahoo site 2) mydomain/wp-admin?

    Thanks,

    Teri

You should be able to login here:

    mydomain/wp-login.php

Not working. I typed https://www.tericbrooks.com/wp-login.php and tericbrooks.com/wp-login.php. Both says page unavailable.

Yahoo Small Business hosted sites must be different. Only way to access my site seems to be from their dashboard.

I have other WordPress self-hosted sites. This is the only one with this challenge.

    Maybe need a new host.

    Thanks for your attempted assistance.

Have you asked them about this issue?

I’m sorry, I opened a new thread. I have asked Yahoo- no response.

My blog is in a sub-directory. Should I make it my root to see if it helps?

Any specific help you can offer?

My blog is in a sub-directory.

Where is WordPress installed? Do not change anything right now.

Did you change anything before this problem started?

    (@trainingchamps)

I did not change anything. The only thing I did differently was upload a graphic file to the root directory using Filezilla. I was concerned that it deposited some type of temp file.

Remember, I’m totally a novice. So, I really don’t know what I’m talking about (regarding the temp file).

    Could it be the FileZilla?

Could the problem be my theme? Should I try to upload a new one?

    (@wpyogi)

No, you are using twentyfifteen which is the current default theme – no likely problem there.

You said above that your site is in a sub-directory ? Where ? How did you set that up?

    Thread Starter trainingchamps

    (@trainingchamps)

Ok. I deleted my theme. I was able to log in, but in the theme gallery section is says “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.remarpro.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.”

Any ideas what this could mean? By the way, I so appreciate your help!!!!

The site is up and running. Not sure how. But, when I try to edit ANYTHING I get the gray HTTP500 error message again. I cannot click posts, comments, plugins – nothing without getting this error.

    Again…no dashboard. So frustrating.

If you are getting an internal server error, you really need to talk to Yahoo – ask them how to look at the server error logs.

BTW, I’ve seen quite a few people on Yahoo hosting with problems lately ?? .

Thanks for your help. I will contact Yahoo and try to transfer my domain away. HOpe it’s not complicated.

Thanks you sooooo much. So good to not feel alone when stuff like this goes awry.

I’m sorry I couldn’t be more help – but I think that’s a good decision. But BTW, you don’t need to transfer the domain registration – just change the nameservers to your new hosting. Transferring domain registrations is much more complicated and can take a week or more! So unless you really need to do that, it’s much faster and easier to simply change the nameserver settings.

Good luck :)! And post back if and when we can be more help to you.
