• When I click “Deactivate” under any of my plugins I receive the message saying “Plugin deactivated”, but it still stays on my Active list, and I can tell that it’s still working.

Also I cannot seem to update the plugins to the latest version.

There is a similar problem with comments, in that when I mark some comments as spam I get a message saying ‘comments marked as spam’ but they are still in the list.

Previously I attempted an update to WordPress 3.8 which went (badly) wrong, so I reverted to 3.7.1 to find this error. I’m wondering if I need to restore the database from backups…

    website is https://www.mrcoconut.co.uk

    Thanks in advance…

Also I cannot seem to deactivate the plugins via FTP, the folder will not allow me to change its name. Likewise when I try to change use phpMyAdmin I cannot set the active_plugins to a:0:{}.
