    Hi

I moved my website to a new host (old one closed down) and once the transfer was done, all looked good.
I then upgraded WordPress to 4.1, and that’s where the fun (!) began…
I have several screen shots showing what happens (see link below).
Basically, with the old version of WordPress, the Dashboard renders perfectly.
Once I have upgraded, both Chrome and IE do not render the dashboard–instead, the links are just displayed as text on a white background.
FireFox, on the other hand, renders the dashboard properly, but when I try to edit a post, even though the visual editor is selected, the content is displayed as text, and is also white on a white background (i.e., the text seems invisible until I select the whole lot).
Basically, I can’t really manage my site and blog like this. ??

  • When I went to https://grace.trueinsight.za.com/wp-login.php, I was asked for a username and password. It’s possible that the CSS file (that takes care of the look and feel) is also behind this username and password perhaps?

However, after entering the username and password (it doesn’t make much sense to put something behind a user/pass when you actually give the credentials in a popup window), I got a normally rendered login screen.

Yes, I don’t know where that senseless little ‘extra login” comes from. I will check it with the new hosts. It wasn’t on the old site.
With which browser did you go there?
Even my login screen is not rendering properly in Chrome or IE, so you are already getting a different result from me.
I can’t quite make up my mind whether it is a browser setting, or something with WP. After all, in both Chrome and IE, the dashboard was rendering properly until I upgraded to WP4.1. And even in Firefox, which is giving me the dashboard, there is the problem with the editing of posts.

B.t.w., I took a quick look at your site. Awesome.

Oh my goodness. I just logged in there in Firefox, and now Firefox is also not rendering the dashboard! Any ideas?

On Chrome or Firefox, I see no styling issues with either your site at https://grace.trueinsight.za.com or your admin at https://grace.trueinsight.za.com/wp-admin

    The problem has been solved.
Turns out it was a problem with the installation of Net Nanny, which I uninstalled and reinstalled, and now all is good.
